Way of Being in the Natural World
Communication should be viewed as a quality of life that is present at any level and which makes life possible. Recent research on plants shows that, even in the plant world, there is much more communication and understanding of the environment than was supposed.
To communicate is to live, communication says, “I want to relate” (plants, animals, soil, air, water the planet, the cosmos) Ancient cultures practiced this oneness in nature and the cosmos with humility and reverence to their surroundings.
Like the ancients my imagination is stirred by this primordial language of connection. These drawings are to me a primal dance, rhythmically swaying to the tempo of the natural world. No second guessing allowed, only listening and responding with reverence, humility and an attitude of quiet delight.
